Terms of use

1. What For U is, and what it is not

For U is a technology platform and an intermediary within the meaning of section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and a marketplace e-commerce entity under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. It provides software that helps you find and book independent, verified doctors, follow a clinic queue, receive and store prescriptions and reports, place orders with independent licensed chemists, and book tests with independent NABL-accredited laboratories.

For U is not a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, laboratory, insurer, or provider of medical advice. For U does not practise medicine, does not diagnose, triage, recommend treatment or change any dose, does not hold a drug licence, does not stock, own, sell, store, dispense or take title to any medicine, and does not collect, test or report any sample. Every doctor, chemist, laboratory and delivery person on the Platform is an independent professional or business, solely responsible for the services they provide, and is not an employee, agent or partner of For U.

No doctor-patient relationship is created between you and For U. Any doctor-patient relationship is solely between you and the doctor you choose.

2. Medical emergencies

The Platform is not an emergency service and must not be used in an emergency. If you or anyone else has chest pain, breathlessness, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, a seizure, signs of stroke, poisoning, thoughts of self-harm or any other urgent condition, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Queue positions, messages and delivery times on the Platform can be delayed and must never be relied on in an emergency.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to create an account. Children under 18 may be added only as dependants on the account of a parent or lawful guardian, who accepts these Terms on the child's behalf and is responsible for the child's use of the Platform. A dependant's profile passes to the child's own control when the child turns 18, and the parent's access then ends unless the child grants it again.

You log in with your mobile number and a one-time password. You may add family members as profiles only with their permission, or, for someone who cannot consent, as their lawful guardian or caregiver. You are responsible for all activity through your account and for keeping your phone and codes secure. Tell us immediately at the contact below if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend an account to protect you or others while we investigate.

You must give true, accurate and complete information, including about allergies, current medicines and health history that you choose to record, and keep it up to date. For U is not responsible for any consequence of information you provide that is false, incomplete or out of date.

4. Doctors and consultations

Every doctor listed on For U is checked against the Indian Medical Register or a State Medical Council register and re-checked periodically. Verification confirms registration details on the date of the check; it is not an endorsement or guarantee of any doctor's skill, advice or outcome. Doctor pages show verified facts only; For U does not publish ratings, reviews or testimonials and nobody can pay to appear higher.

Medical advice, diagnosis, prescriptions and treatment are the independent professional judgement and sole responsibility of the treating doctor. The safety checks in the software (allergy, duplicate medicine and teleconsultation restrictions) are aids for the doctor, not a substitute for the doctor's judgement, and do not make For U responsible for any clinical decision.

Booking reserves a place in a clinic's queue, not a fixed time. Clinics own their queues and may accept, decline, reorder or cancel a session, including to see an emergency first. Queue positions are indicative only.

Teleconsultations, when offered, follow the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020. The doctor may decline a teleconsultation, ask you to visit in person, or end the call and advise emergency care. Certain medicines cannot legally be prescribed by teleconsultation and will not be. A teleconsultation is recorded only if both you and the doctor consent.

5. Medicines

Medicines are sold only by independent chemists holding a valid drug licence under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. The chemist is the seller of record. The chemist's registered pharmacist verifies the prescription, the chemist dispenses and invoices in its own name and is solely responsible for the quality, authenticity, storage, labelling, expiry and dispensing of what it supplies. For U only transmits the order, facilitates payment through a licensed payment aggregator and arranges delivery.

Prescription medicines are supplied only against a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner. Chemists supply only the exact brand, strength and quantity prescribed; For U does not allow brand substitution. If a medicine is unavailable or unaffordable, ask your doctor, who may issue a new prescription. Narcotic, psychotropic and other medicines restricted by law are not ordered through the Platform.

The chemist confirms availability and price when it accepts your order. Prices are never above the printed MRP. Chemists and laboratories are listed by total price; For U does not rank them for payment.

You must use medicines only as prescribed, read the label and leaflet, and check what you receive. Report any problem with a delivered order within 48 hours as described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy. For U does not claim that any medicine is genuine or safe; it shows only dated facts such as when a chemist's licence was last verified.

6. Laboratory tests

Tests are performed only by laboratories accredited by NABL for the tests offered, which collect, transport, test and report under their own name and registration, with reports signed by their pathologist. The laboratory is solely responsible for sample collection, testing and the accuracy of results. Follow the preparation instructions given by the laboratory. Certain tests, including HIV, need your specific consent before booking, and their results are shared only as the law and our Privacy Policy allow.

7. Fees and payments

Every amount you pay is shown before you pay, item by item: medicines, delivery, test and collection fees, teleconsultation fees and any payment-method charge. Payments are processed by a licensed payment aggregator authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. For U does not operate a wallet and does not store your card details. Amounts due to chemists, laboratories and doctors are settled to them by the payment aggregator; For U retains only its own disclosed fees and applicable taxes.

Taxes, including GST and any tax collected at source under law, are charged as required. Invoices for medicines are issued by the chemist; invoices for For U's own fees are issued by For U.

Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Refund and Cancellation Policy. Any unauthorised reversal or chargeback of a valid payment may lead to suspension of your account.

8. Your health records and consent

Your records are handled as set out in our Privacy Policy. In summary: records you or your doctors create are shared with other doctors only with your recorded, time-limited consent (except the minimum safety information described in the Privacy Policy); every opening of your file by a doctor is logged and visible to you; doctors' private notes stay with the doctor; and For U never sells your data.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:

• impersonate any person, give false information, or create bookings or orders you do not intend to honour;
• access or try to access any record, account or data that is not yours, or bypass any security, consent or access control;
• upload or send forged, altered or someone else's prescriptions, or try to obtain medicines without a valid prescription;
• misuse the Platform to obtain or divert controlled, habit-forming or restricted substances;
• harass, abuse or threaten any doctor, clinic staff, chemist, laboratory staff, rider or For U staff;
• copy, scrape, reverse engineer, resell or build a competing service from the Platform or its data;
• introduce malware, overload the Platform, or interfere with its operation;
• post or transmit anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing or otherwise prohibited under rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021;
• use the Platform in breach of any law, including the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

10. Suspension and termination

We may, with reasons and where practicable with notice, suspend or terminate your access, cancel a booking or order, or remove content if you breach these Terms, if required by law or an authority, or to protect patients, partners or the Platform. You may close your account at any time. Closing an account does not delete records the law requires to be kept (see the Privacy Policy), and does not affect rights and obligations that arose before closure.

11. Intellectual property

The Platform, its software, design, text, graphics, logos and the For U name and marks belong to For U or its licensors and are protected by law. You receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. Your health data remains yours; you grant For U only the permissions needed to provide the services described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, For U does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that any doctor, chemist, laboratory, rider or third-party service will be available at any time. Information on the Platform (including drug catalogue data, prices, availability, queue positions and delivery times) may change and is provided for convenience; the treating doctor, the chemist and the laboratory remain responsible for their own information and services.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) For U is not liable for the acts, omissions, advice, negligence, products or services of any independent doctor, clinic, chemist, laboratory, rider, delivery partner, payment aggregator or other third party; (b) For U is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill; and (c) For U's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the total fees actually received by For U from you (excluding amounts passed on to chemists, laboratories and doctors, and taxes) in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, or any right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be waived.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless For U, its directors, officers, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss, penalty or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, false information you provide, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

15. Third-party services and links

The Platform relies on third parties such as payment aggregators, messaging providers, map services, hosting providers and government systems (for example ABDM). Their services are governed by their own terms. For U is not responsible for their availability or conduct beyond the obligations the law places on For U.

16. Force majeure

For U is not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, government action, strikes, network or power failures, failures of third-party services, or cyber attacks despite reasonable security practices.

17. Grievances and disputes

Complaints go first to our Grievance Officer: Chirag Agarwal, foruhealthtech@gmail.com, +91 95895 98887. We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days, or sooner where the law requires. Details are on the Grievance Officer page.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the next paragraph, the courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar (Greater Noida), Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction. Before starting any proceedings, the parties shall try in good faith to resolve the dispute through our grievance process for at least 30 days.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits your right to approach a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or the Data Protection Board of India for personal data matters.

18. General

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, our services or our practices. We will show the date of the latest version on this page and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by message before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the rest of these Terms will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor in a merger, acquisition or restructuring with notice to you. These Terms, with the policies they refer to, are the entire agreement between you and For U about the Platform.

These Terms are published in English and Hindi. If there is any difference in meaning, the English version prevails.
